We don’t hand over a codebase and walk away. We build what we operate, and operate what we build.

Shipping is the start of the work, not the end of it. Software that carries real operations has to be watched, maintained and corrected, so we keep our hands on it. The people who wrote the code are the people who answer for it.

   Innovation

   Not novelty for its own sake.

   New tooling earns its place by removing work, not by adding surface. The test we apply is whether a system is simpler to operate a year after we ship it than it was on the day it launched. Most of what is fashionable fails that test.

   Solutions

   A feature closes a ticket. A solution ends the problem behind it.

   We design for the whole of a workflow. The exceptions, the handovers, the awkward cases nobody writes down. That is where systems quietly fail, and it is the part that separates software people tolerate from software they rely on.

   Transformation

   The technology is rarely the hard part.

   The real difficulty is moving an organisation from how it works now to how it could work, without losing records, momentum or the trust of the people using it. We plan for that first and build backwards from it.
